Returns & warranty

Warranty cover and support for your PlayBolt tennis ball machine, with clear steps if something goes wrong.

Warranty cover

The following warranty periods apply to all four tennis ball machine models in our range.

Battery (personal use)
1 year
Other parts (personal use)
3 years
Commercial / court use
18 months (1.5 years)

If your machine develops a fault, contact PlayBolt for help with assessment and the next steps. Keep your proof of purchase so we can identify the machine and its warranty cover.

These warranty periods are in addition to your rights under applicable New Zealand consumer law.

How to make a claim

  1. Contact PlayBolt

Email sales@playbolt.co.nz or call 021 147 6189. Tell us the model, your order reference or purchase details, and what has happened. Photos or a short video can help us understand the issue.

  2. Let us assess the issue

We may ask for more information or suggest checks to help identify the problem. If the machine needs inspection, we will provide return instructions and the return address.

  3. Agree the next step

We will explain the assessment and the appropriate repair, replacement or refund, including your options under applicable consumer law. We will discuss the expected timeframe with you.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Contact us if a machine arrives damaged, the item supplied is incorrect or it develops a fault. If you believe it is unsafe, stop using it while we help you resolve the issue. Keep photos of any delivery damage and packaging if possible.

Where the Consumer Guarantees Act applies, a minor problem that can be fixed can be resolved by a repair, replacement or refund at no charge and within a reasonable time. For a substantial problem, or where a remedy is not provided within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to reject the product and choose a refund or replacement, or keep it and claim compensation for the loss in value.

Returning a machine

Please contact us before sending a machine or battery back so we can provide the return address and suitable shipping instructions. Pack the item securely for transport. Original packaging is helpful if you have it, but it is not required for a faulty-product claim.

Where a fault is covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act, we will reimburse reasonable return delivery costs. If returning the machine would be difficult or expensive, contact us so we can arrange an appropriate collection or return process. If we supplied the wrong item, we will cover the cost of correcting that mistake.

Change-of-mind returns

We do not accept returns or offer refunds or exchanges if you change your mind, no longer need the machine or choose the wrong model. Please check the specifications and ask us for help before ordering.

This does not affect your rights if a product is faulty, damaged on delivery, incorrectly supplied or does not meet a guarantee under New Zealand consumer law.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes rights available under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand law. Where the Act applies, products must be of acceptable quality and fit for purpose. Your rights may continue after a stated warranty period ends.

The commercial warranty period does not itself exclude any legal rights that apply to a business purchase.

For more information, read Consumer Protection's guide to the Consumer Guarantees Act.
